Coming soon Business Internet
Business internet is coming soon via a partner, with failover designed in.
Texwan is adding business internet through a partner: dedicated fiber (DIA), business broadband, fixed wireless and backup circuits for single and multi-site businesses. The service is not live yet. Register your sites below and we will contact you when quoting opens. In the meantime we can manage the circuits you already have.
01 / Threat Briefing
Threat Briefing
Outages linked to fiber and connectivity issues are rising and are more likely to result in extended disruptions, according to the Uptime Institute. In its 2025 annual survey, 57% of respondents said their most recent major outage cost more than $100,000, and one in five said it cost more than $1 million. (Uptime Institute 2026)
When the only circuit drops, cloud apps, card payments and VoIP phones fail together. NIST contingency planning guidance treats alternate telecommunications services as a core recovery control. (NIST SP 800-34)
Availability is address-specific. The FCC National Broadband Map shows which providers report service at a location, and mass-market broadband providers must publish standardized broadband labels with price and typical speeds.
02 / Risk and Compliance Matrix
Risk and Compliance Matrix
| Risk | Control or compliance mapping | Business impact |
|---|---|---|
| Single circuit, single carrier, single physical path | NIST CSF 2.0 RC.RP; NIST SP 800-34 alternate telecommunications (NIST) | Whole-site outage for phones, payments and cloud apps |
| Broadband with no service level agreement used for critical workloads | Contract terms: SLA, mean time to repair and outage credits (compare in writing per carrier) | Multi-day repair times with no remedy |
| Auto-renewing contracts and promotional pricing that expires | FCC broadband labels for mass-market plans (FCC); written term and renewal clauses for business circuits | Unplanned price increases and early termination fees |
| Internet circuit terminates on an unpatched or unmanaged edge device | CISA KEV (catalog); NIST SP 800-41 (NIST) | Exploitable perimeter regardless of circuit quality |
03 / Architecture and Remediation Directives
Architecture and Remediation Directives
- Match circuit type to workload: dedicated fiber with an SLA for sites that run voice and cloud apps all day; business broadband as a secondary or for small offices; fixed wireless or cellular as a diverse-path backup.
- Buy the second circuit from a different carrier on a different physical path (different conduit or medium). Two circuits from the same carrier in the same trench fail together.
- Terminate both circuits on a managed firewall or SD-WAN edge with automatic failover and voice prioritization.
- Get the SLA, repair time, static IP allocation, install timeline and renewal terms in writing for every quote, and compare them side by side.
- Calendar contract end dates 120 days ahead so renewal pricing can be renegotiated or the circuit replaced.
04 / Vendor-Neutral Verification Checklist
Vendor-Neutral Verification Checklist
Three checks you can run yourself, with or without us.
- Availability. Look up each site on the FCC National Broadband Map and list every provider and technology shown. Ask any quote that omits one of them why.
- Path diversity. Ask each carrier how its service physically enters your building and which central office or hub it routes to. If the primary and backup share an entrance or a hub, they are not diverse.
- Contract terms. For each quote, write down the monthly price, term, install fee, SLA, repair target and what happens at renewal. Reject any quote that will not put these in writing.
