3CX alternatives / migration
Moving off 3CX, with your numbers and call flows intact
We do not sell 3CX. We move businesses off it, to a hosted phone system that we run, patch and support, so nobody on your team has to look after a phone server.
Why people leave
The usual reasons we hear
- Somebody has to run it. A self-hosted phone server needs updates, certificates, backups and monitoring. That job often lands on whoever set it up, and stays with them after they move on.
- Security. In March 2023 CISA warned of a supply chain attack in which a trojanized version of the 3CX desktop app was distributed to customers. For many owners that was the first time they asked who was responsible for patching their phones.
- Licensing changes. Edition, user and renewal terms change over time, and the renewal is a natural moment to compare options.
- One accountable provider. Owners want the phones, the network they run on and the support in one place.
What moves
What we carry over from 3CX
| From 3CX | What happens |
|---|---|
| Phone numbers | Ported from your SIP trunk provider to the new service on a scheduled date. |
| Extensions and users | Rebuilt with the same numbers, names and voicemail boxes. |
| Ring groups, queues and the auto attendant | Recreated from an export and a review of how calls really flow, then tested. |
| Greetings and on-hold audio | Reused where the files can be exported; otherwise re-recorded. |
| Call recordings and history | Exported for you to keep before the old system is shut down, so you can meet your own retention needs. |
| Desk phones | Mainstream SIP phones can often be reprovisioned. We check models before quoting; anything that cannot be reused is replaced with pre-configured phones. |
Where you can go
Options, honestly compared
Hosted voice run by Texwan
No phone server on your site or in your cloud account. We run the platform, apply updates and answer support requests within one business day.
An on-site appliance
For sites that need local survival or have special integrations, a Yeastar or Grandstream system with SIP trunks, managed by us.
A large calling platform
If you already live in a big collaboration suite, its calling add-on may fit. We will say so and help you plan the move even if it is not ours.
Questions
3CX migration questions
Do you still support 3CX while we migrate?
We keep it running long enough to export what we need and test the new system. We do not take on long-term 3CX support or sell 3CX licenses.
Can we move one site at a time?
Yes. The two systems can run side by side, with sites or departments moving in waves.
What about the mobile and desktop apps?
Users get the apps that come with the new system, set up and tested before cutover, so calls can still be taken away from the desk.
